Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, and other tourist cities of Thailand are flooded with cheap guest houses, lodges and paying guest facilities, where the room rates and all associated charges are low and affordable. Most of the guest houses at Bangkok are located in and around Khao San Road. Off course you will find some in other areas of Bangkok as well. Some of the guest houses are so well located that even if you have no constraint on your budget, you may like to stay there due to the quiet, cozy and comfortable atmosphere they provide, away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded city markets. In fact you may find some of such guest houses nearly as pricey as good hotels. An ordinary guest house would on an average cost you around 300-500 baht per day. Some guest houses provide weekly and monthly rates as well. Spending a little extra can fetch you independent room with modern amenities like attached bathroom, hot water, TV in the room, fridge, air conditioner, etc. Twin sharing and Triple sharing rooms are easily available too, if you are traveling with your spouse and children. You will also find a basic restaurant, bar, lobby with TV+DVD, and other essential facilities in most guest houses. |
